This year we may expect change in NVS Catering Supervisor Exam question paper Difficulty Level due to two reasons:
Job Title Update:
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti recently modified the job title from Catering Assistant to Catering Supervisor in their latest Recruitment Rules Notification in June 2023. Even though the job role has transitioned from a junior to a supervisory level, the salary structure remains at Level 4 in the pay matrix (Rs. 25500-81100).
Essential Qualification Change:
Previously, until 2022, the essential qualification for the exam was a Three Years Diploma in Catering or its equivalent. However, starting from 2023, the necessary qualification has shifted to a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management.
New Essential Qualification: 3 years Degree course in catering or equivalent from an institution recognized by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India/State Govt.
OR
Trade proficiency certificate in catering with a minimum of 10 years’ service in
Defense Services of regular establishment (For ex-servicemen only)
Impact on Question Paper Difficulty Level
With both the job title and essential qualification undergoing upgrades, it’s anticipated that the difficulty level of the NVS Catering Supervisor Exam question paper will change. Previously, most questions related to Domain/Profession Knowledge (Food Production) were elementary. However, it’s now expected that the question paper will include more challenging, supervisory-level questions.
The transition in job titles and qualifications suggests a likely shift towards a more comprehensive and demanding examination structure.
