Contractual Engagement
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers the contractual position of the Hospitality Monitor.
Contract Duration
The contract duration is initially for 2 years and can be extended for an addition of 1 year based on requirement and satisfactory performance.
Remuneration
CTC: Rs 30,000/- per month (incl. of Statutory Deductions) Likewise, the selected candidates receive a monthly consolidated remuneration, including statutory deductions, along with additional benefits.
Allowances
Also, these benefits include daily allowance, lodging charges, National Holiday Allowance, Medical Insurance, Leave, and Bonus.
Daily Allowance: Rs 350/- per day for on-duty on-board in train (s) (100% for more than 12 hours, 70%
for 6 to 12 hours, and 30% and less than 6 hours)
Lodging Charges: Rs.240/- only if night stay is involved at outstation.
National Holiday Allowance (NHA): Rs 384/- per National Holiday (if worked).
Medical Insurance: Rs. 800/- per month (Reimbursable on submission valid documents)
Education Qualification Required
Candidates must hold a full-time 3-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration from recognized institutions.
- Full-time B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from a Central or State institute of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHM & CT, UGC, AICTE, or the Government of India.
or
- BBA/MBA (Culinary Arts) from Indian Culinary Institutes under the Ministry of Tourism.
or
- B.Sc. in Hotel Management and Catering Science from Government-recognized Universities affiliated with UGC, AICTE, the Government of India, or State Government.
and, or
- M.B.A (Tourism and Hotel Management) from Government-recognized Universities affiliated with UGC, AICTE, the Government of India, or State Government.
Experience Required for IRCTC Hospitality Monitor Job
Candidates with minimum of 02 years experience in the relevant field will only be eligible to apply.
Upper Age limit
- UR candidates have an age limit of 28 years.
- SC/ST applicants, OBC applicants, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) applicants, and Ex-Servicemen will receive age relaxation according to Government guidelines.
- SC/ST applicants have an upper age relaxation of 5 years, while OBC applicants have a relaxation of 3 years. PwBD applicants have a relaxation of 10 years.
- Ex-Servicemen can avail age relaxation equivalent to the extent of service rendered in defense plus an additional 3 years.

IRCTC may deploy/post candidates anywhere in India at its discretion.
Selection Process

Scope of Work
Supervise food production, quality, and services in designated catering units, ensuring compliance with company policies and hospitality standards. Manage staffing and resources, address customer issues, collect feedback for analysis, ensure statutory compliance, educate staff on equipment maintenance, and coordinate with various departments and partners.

- Responsible for the supervision/monitoring of food production, quality & services in nominated mobile/static catering units.
- To ensure compliance of company policies and standard hospitality procedures/practices.
- Ensure proper man-power & materials for nominated mobile/static catering units.
- Resolve customer/passenger care related issues and effective Complaint management.
- Collect feedback, its analysis and course correction.
- Ensure statutory compliance / regulations as applicable.
- Supervise & educate the staff in efficient upkeep of equipments and devices.
- Co-ordinate with various departments, offices, business partners.

General Information
a) This engagement is purely contractual and does not guarantee regular employment with IRCTC.
b) The contract may be terminated by either party with one month’s notice or immediately for unsatisfactory performance.
c) Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for this position.
d) Government/PSU employees must apply through proper channels or provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) during the interview.
e) IRCTC reserves the right to cancel or modify the advertisement or selection process without prior notice.
f) The number of vacancies may vary depending on IRCTC’s requirements at the time of engagement.
g) Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria and provide accurate information; any discrepancies may result in termination.
h) Selected candidates must provide a security deposit of Rs. 25,000 in the form of a Demand Draft.
i) No travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided for attending the walk-in interview.
j) Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, and report preparation is desirable.
k) Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to make rational decisions.
